Measuring liveweight changes in lactating dairy ewes with an automated walk-over-weighing system

چکیده

Monitoring liveweight (LW) is an important part of sound management practices at the individual and flock level (e.g., controlling for nutritional status based on body condition, reproduction, health-related issues), but it time consuming stressful. To our knowledge, no literature has reported evaluation automated weighing systems in dairy sheep as alternative to conventional static scales. The objective this research was evaluate practical feasibility using walk-over-weighing (WoW) prototype measure daily LW changes ewes without human intervention. We used adult Lacaune 2 complementary trials conducted indoors. Trial 1 aimed evaluating repeatability, precision, accuracy measures recorded WoW scales compared with a scale (the gold standard). Forty-two (LW ± standard deviation = 71.3 10.4 kg) were randomly drafted from main 1-day session. trial included 3 passages. Lutetium-177 DOTATATE Production with an Automated Radiopharmaceutical Synthesis System

Objective(s): Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) with yttrium-90 (90Y) and lutetium-177 (177Lu)-labelled SST analogues are now therapy option for patients who have failed to respond to conventional medical therapy. In-house production with automated PRRT synthesis systems have clear advantages over manual methods resulting in increasing use in hospital-based radiopharmacies. We report...

Estrus detection in dairy cattle: changes after the introduction of an automated activity monitoring system?

OBJECTIVE In context of the study farmers using an automated activity monitoring (AAM) system called Heatime were surveyed on estrus detection practices. The aim of the study was to gain an overview of the usual estrus detection methods and especially to learn about the practical aspects of that system. MATERIAL AND METHODS Items addressing farm and animal environment, estrus detection before...

An automated measuring system for fundus perimetry.

PURPOSE In order to automate fundus perimetry, which is usually laborious because of the many manual operations and the frequent eye movements, we developed a new fundus perimeter with an automated measuring system using computer technology. METHODS This fundus perimeter consists of an infrared fundus camera, a fundus-pursuit unit, and a target-display unit. Both units are personal computers ...

Dose response of lactating dairy ewes during suckling and milking to bovine somatotropin.

The objectives were to determine the effect of administering recombinant bovine ST (bST) every 14 d on milk yield and milk composition in dairy ewes and to assess the possible effects of treatment on milk yield loss that occurs at lamb weaning. Seventy-two lactating dairy ewes were separated into 4 groups at lambing, and each group received no bST (control) or 40, 80, or 120 mg of bST every 14 ...
